Services

As a philanthropic advisor, I help individual donors, families, and foundations think more deeply about their giving and how they might best make an impact that reflects their values now rather than passing those decisions on to others. I will work with you to figure out a scope of services that adds value and fits within your budget. Some examples of work I do with clients include:

  • Conduct individualized sessions with donors that help them reflect on their current giving actions relative to their values and goals.

  • Facilitate family conversations across generations that can cover topics such as the roots of your family’s wealth, philanthropic goals, and creating a giving strategy that allows space for the next generation to be meaningfully involved.

  • Support family foundation teams with simplifying their grant process, evaluating impact, starting to think about a spend-down path, and more.
  • Collaborate with financial planners, wealth advisors, attorneys, and CPA’s who are looking to enhance their practices with philanthropic advising.

Let’s connect for an individual conversation to figure out how I can help you deepen your philanthropy regardless of where you are currently.

Why Hire a Philanthropic Advisor?

  • Aristotle is credited as saying “to give away money is an easy matter and in any man’s power. But to decide to whom to give it, and how much, and when, and for what purpose, and how, is neither in every man’s power nor an easy matter.” A philanthropic advisor can walk alongside you on your journey.

Client Testimonials

  • “Kileen is such a joy to work with. She understands philanthropy from both the donor and fundraising sides. Her deep compassion for people and the world is evident in her approach, as is her patience, ability to listen deeply, and her extraordinary kindness. I found it easy to discuss ideas and fears and shames that I had rarely shared. I feel more equipped to work in partnership with the organizations I want to support and say “no” to solicitations I am less interested in.”                      — Anonymous Client 2025, Greater Bozeman
  • “Working with Kileen helped me hone my goals and I realized I’d rather go deep with 3-5 orgs than spreading myself across 20+ nonprofits. I valued her partnership to walk alongside me while I figured out this element of my philanthropy.” – Eve
  • When we started having conversations with Kileen about philanthropy, we had different levels of enthusiasm about giving money to organizations or individuals outside our immediate family. Having Kileen’s advice certainly helped us get on the same page and we’re grateful to her for the work we’ve done over the past year plus. Kileen always ensured that both our voices were heard and she gave us specific strategies to learn more, reflect as individuals, and then come together as a couple to keep figuring out our goals and put those into concrete action. We’ve even managed to begin the process of having conversations with our adult children.” – J and C, Montana donors
  • “As a Millennial donor, I am so grateful for Kileen’s guidance as my husband and I think strategically about our giving. With so many (worthy) causes to support, we have felt pulled in many different directions and found our philanthropy being responsive rather than intentional. Thanks to Kileen, we are developing a strategy that fully aligns with our values, and we can feel confident that our money is helping to build the future world we want our kids to live in. We’ve found that we can balance supporting many causes in small and focused ways (with our financial gifts and through volunteering), while prioritizing a couple of strategic donations where we are going deep on the issues and organizations most dear to us.” – A, Montana Millennial donor
