About Me

I’ve worked as a front-line fundraiser (with a focus on major gifts and planned giving) for over 18 years and started my consulting firm, Kileen H Marshall Consulting, in summer 2023. I spent 11 years as the Director of Philanthropy with the ACLU of Montana, where I led the efforts to grow the annual fundraising program from $200k to $1.4M and quintupled the planned giving pipeline from $2M to $10M in future bequest intentions.

My work as a consultant has helped non-profits of all sizes — ranging from start-up orgs with an annual budget under $250k to national organizations at $25M+ annual expenses — to create or grow their major gifts programs and raise more sustainable dollars. My passion and focus is on driving immediate action rather than producing shiny consultant reports. I also work directly with donors as a philanthropic advisor to help donors think more deeply about their giving and how they might best make an impact that reflects their values now rather than avoiding tough decisions or passing the details onto others.

In my non-working life, I am kept on my toes as mom to a feisty kindergarten-aged daughter and can often be found traipsing around the woods in some fashion with my husband, daughter, and dog.
